AI code can breathe life into portrait paintings, photos of dead celebrities, and your Facebook selfies, transforming single still images into moving and talking heads.

Pretty soon we might live in a world of "I didn't say that!" and lawsuits and other fun lovelies. (arrrrgh!)

Once they can read our thoughts, we're really in trouble!

There are some news sources with examples of the capability, and it's quite disturbing.

Yes, I quite expect harmful and 'I was just joking' and nasty uses to proliferate FIRST. And it will be interesting to see where what remedies will be introduced. Depending on the conversation parameters some very 'big' persons and organisations could find themselves on the side of 'abuse'; where to - legally - draw the line on 'falsity' online...

That said a couple of quite practical uses of "transforming single still images into moving and talking heads" seem almost immediate successes:
* currently a real person has to sit down in front of a camera and read whatever; this allows an avatar of said person (or a totally made up 'trademark' brand identity) to do so all within software, no video or sound equipment/studio required.
Note: who needs to an actual celebrity to take time out their day, just licence their avatar.

* avatar personalised to 'you' that can respond and even hold a conversation with caller - chatbot plus; or be more simply a 'skin' while you do the audio. You may be nude with bed head and 5-day beard or actually out playing golf but your avatar is there to cover, perfect in every way...

More people are thinking as they do because they've been influenced to think/feel as someone else wants and they don't even know it. Isn't that already like a brain implant?
