Just realised that three days from now it will be 18 years ago, Monday 14-May-2001, that the first of my current sites went live.

So much has happened, so much has changed, in the intervening years, yet perhaps my greatest webdev accomplishment is simply to still be standing.

You know, your message made me realized something, my very first site (1994), which is still alive, is older than my son :)

3 decades ago next year...

My first site was over half my life ago. Free webspace provided by the ISP, a whole 15MB.

I think it's great to have been there since the early age of the WWW, personally, I do feel lucky.

Wow, makes my oldest still-live site (12 years) seem like a youngster.

Sold it earlier this year, was (for a short time) quite emotional.

I know I sound stupid, but I couldn't sell one of my sites, ... if I was badly needing money, i would sell my son instead... joking of-course :)

Congratulations iamlost, and everyone else of the web pioneers here.

My first site goes back to 1995, but it no longer exists as-it-was as it was far too rudimentary to continue. It had the good old "under construction" type of messages on each part of the basic site. Web space was provided by the ISP.

I just realised I have another site still running, and it was running originally in May 1998.

Many of the oldest sites were either sold, and/or moved onto new domains. Even some of the company domains I set up way back seem to have morphed, with none I could see still operating.
Interestingly, I ran a view of a backup to find an old intranet. Oh my, it looks so dated.
Fun, thanks.

My first has been operating (mostly on cruise) since 1996 without break (except for a 3 day UNEXPECTED need to switch hosts last April). Still as goofy as ever---except it is now responsive these days. :)
