Oops moment when the European Commission itself is not compliant with its GDPR.

Officials in Brussels admitted the bureaucracy that designed the rules is not itself compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A spokesman said the European Commission was "taking and will continue to take all the necessary steps to comply".

But
The European Commission has claimed it is not subject to the strict new data protection law

The GDPR does not apply the same for administrations, and things like that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- no politician, government entity, or regulatory agency should ever be allowed to pass a law/regulation that exempts themselves from that law/regulation. If they can't follow the law/regulation they pass, then why should anyone else have to?

The phrase incompetent fools comes to mind.

Demonstrates the quality of the people who are foisting the GDPR nonsense onto the Internet.

Why should the EU comply? Who is going to police the police? Can you ask law enforcement to provide all the data about you, example all the footage of you walking in the streets of London and being recorded by the CCTV systems in place?

So how does this work? Can someone bring a suit against the European Commission?

I don't think so, because, some administrations are excluded from the GDRP , and the EU commission itself is. Also, since an eventual fine is collected by the EU itself, this wouldn't change anything, they'll pay, and get back the money.

Kind of like the U.S. Congress passing one kind of health care for all of us and another - much better one - for themselves.

Do as I say, not as I do. ;)

Most bureaucracies protect themselves from litigation whether local, state, or national. Thus these bodies rarely are compliant with rules, regs, or laws, but the rest of us are held with feet to the fire.
