ROFL

Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket [google.com]

Phrases to avoid:

think outside the box (yeah, yeah, think of another cliche)
the rest is history
brave new world
level playing field
110 percent
cover all of the bases
push the envelope
paradigm shift (makes me want to toss things at the screen)
the big picture

OK, we donīt need to re-invent the wheel here! ;)

<cringes> Was once in a day long team building where that phrase was used like, every 5 minutes...</cringes>

Pardon my stupid question, but can someone tell me why we are calling this update dominic?

Thanks!

Their Pizza slices are great, and the barmaids had a crush on DaveN...

Neo541,

It was the little restaurant next to the hotel that we all spent a fair amount of time in during PubCon.

darn, i thought the waitresses were sweet on me ;)

<added>WebmasterWorld comes up somewhere for most of the searches i do. Nothing more frustrating than trying to find an answer for an orphan post and coming up with that exact post in the serp's. Makes me laugh though.

"Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket "

One idlely wonders why on earth digitalghost should have been whiling away his time inputing phrases like that into Google.

Has this guy not got anything better to do, has he got a new client in the egg business or the basket business. Or maybe he is advising Coca Cola.

Maybe he has got bored trolling the board at WebmasterWorld

Seems very rum to me!

I never get bored here. Just finishing up a piece on seriously abused cliches. Gotta keep those creative juices flowing. ;)

The real question is how Google's algo determined that eggs and baskets are relevant to WebmasterWorld..

Sorry, thought we were in Foo ;)

It is an interesting question, because if you try the expression in quotes, the first WebmasterWorld forum to come up is #47 rather than the first page without the quotes.

Now why does that happen?

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand this.

Interesting thing is that last time I heard this was from a UC Berkeley statistics professor during a lecture in graduate level Probability Theory, a course most rocket scientists would probably find quite difficult.

My brother is a rocket scientist (mechanical engineer for JPL) and he understands most things he encounters. Don't underestimate rocket scientists :)
