Just read a tweet:

The Berlin Wall stood for 10316 days and today it has been gone for 10316 days.


The painful part is that I can remember as a kid going to the Saturday movie matinée and watching the newsreel footage of the wall being built, as a parent sitting with my daughter and watching live TV footage of it coming down, and now I look at my grandkids and think: when did I become so old that three generations of history have passed on by...

I lived in Germany (Frankfurt, Munich) during the time of the Wall. Took a trip to West Berlin and it was awful.

I live near the Mexico border now where everyone got along great until recently. Just the idea of a wall here has people arguing.

I took out a custom built home entertainment center and a fireplace so I could have a blank wall big enough to put a 75" television on. Have not regretted it one bit.

Was on a train which crossed the Berlin wall, way back in the early days. Was not a pleasant site. Nor was life on the other side, in Poland, my destination.....
