Tis the season

Flu season that is. Laid low 31 Dec, finally standing upright again though a kitten could take me out without trying. Usually avoid flu shots (for years) but this beast is one I which I had made the attempt.

Not sure if it's just a localized issue, but I heard a news report saying that this year's flu shot has only been effective against 10% of the strains hitting people this year. (Ironically, I heard that in the car heading to get my flu shot...)

Sorry to hear you got the flu. I've had it once in my life and I can attest, it's awful, and debilitating.
Yes, i'm hearing that it's a worse strain, and different from the flu jabs that they prepared.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. The flu takes away a lot though, eat whatever you can (along with the lots of liquids thing) to help get back on top of it.

I remember my last bout of flue, a fair white ago now. I had an appointment for a job interview so I phoned the agency to reschedule. By the time that the agency called back with a new appointment I was totally out of it and had no idea what this guy on the phone was talking about. He didn't feel it worth sending an email to confirm and by the time that I recovered I didn't remember a thing about it until I got a call asking why I hadn't turned up on the new date.

Having had cardiac surgery I qualify for a free jab every winter and I make sure that I get it. God bless the NHS!

So far I've escaped getting sick, unless sore throats fit that category. However those are probably the result of poor singing technique.

I've been a bit germophobic lately because of the media reports concerning this flu. No one I know has had it but it has been responsible for several deaths in my city.
