I didn't see the episode (haven't watched SP for several years), but read this [kfiam640.iheart.com]. It certainly sounds like something they would do. :)

All joking aside, this is a good warning about how these types of devices can be abused if not outright hacked.

How anyone thinks it is a good idea to have Amazon or Google (or anyone else) and whoever can gain access to their systems listen to everything said in your home is a good idea is beyond me.

There was a recent story about a burger company that spammed Google Home [webmasterworld.com...]

It's all too easy to abuse these devices, imho.
