Facebook's chatbot programs seem to have developed their own efficient communications language.

Although some reports insinuate that the bots had at this point invented a new language in order to elude their human masters, a better explanation is that the neural networks had simply modified human language for the purposes of more efficient interaction. Interesting, and scary at the same time.

Pfft- AI chatbots just being typical teenagers.

Back in my day, we used inefficient language and had to conjugate verbs in 12 different tenses/forms. And we had to spell out the words correctly (not just phonetically shortened forms or use "B" to cover every different tense/form of existence verbs). And we had to use them in a sentence. With capitalization and punctuation.

And no participation trophy when we were done.
