The FBI has warned parents of privacy and safety risks from children's toys connected to the internet.
In an advisory posted on its website, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said that such toys may contain parts or capabilities such as microphones, cameras, GPS, data storage and speech recognition that may disclose personal information.

Disclaimer: I first found this report on a website I generally view which is generally panned on this site as verbotten because of the domain.name, thus went and looked and lo and behold, even those guys of accepted domain.name have the same report!
Commentary follows:
After all the reports of internet connected adult intimate toys and stuff like that you'd think this wouldn't be news, but these IoT invasions target kiddies, in their homes, and perhaps Mommy and Daddy are JUST NOW starting to wake up to the DANGERS of the IoT!
Only time will tell if the WARNING has been heard! I doubt it, most parents of small kids these days are Millennials and they are already used to this kind of invasive Internet.
I am now shifting tongue from firmly inserted in right cheek to left cheek, just in case you don't get the humor (with or without "u").
