British daredevil aims to break four records for wingsuit flying
A British wingsuit pilot has soaring ambitions to break four world records by sky diving from 42,000 feet.

The high-intensity sport of wingsuit flying involves jumping from a height using a special suit with 'wings' fitted between the limbs to generate extra lift and allow the wearer to glide through the air.

Fraser Corsan, a 42-year-old former aerospace safety engineer, will carry out two wingsuit jumps as he attempts to break the records for the highest altitude jumped in a wingsuit, as well as the longest time and furthest distance flown.

I think I'll stick to running websites. That's dangerous enough!

Whew! Adrenal junkies come up with the strangest ways to flirt with eternity!

Breaking News: new sport where you build web pages while wingsuit flying.

I've watched wingsuit flying on TV. Unbelievable mix of courage & stupidity. One guy that was interviewed said one of his wingsuit flying buddies died doing the sport. At the end of the show, a note said that guy himself was killed wingsuit flying a few weeks later.

The pucker factor can be amazing. In my youth helicopters over jungle with no doors and no seat belts was enough for me!

I don't enjoy scaring myself. I get enough of that in daily life. Restarting my server always raises my pulse.

I rode a rollercoaster (one of the largest in US) and nearly had a heart attack. On the other hand, my GF's 9 year old daughter had the time of her life and wanted to do it again.

I do thoroughly dig driving my Corvette fast though.

Paying for the upkeep on a machine like that terrifies me. :)

One of the guys in the band had a ZO6 and it was a real PITA in operational costs, then again, he drove it like an idiot, going through three full sets of tires in less than 20,000 miles. (And those, alone, ain't cheap!) Aspirated water into the engine during a flash rainstorm, but was in warranty so Chevy paid HALF (and it still wasn't cheap). Undercarriage changed out twice, bent, torqued... more dollars out the door.

You're a braver man than I! :)

2009 Kia Sentra. So far the biggest repair was replacing the battery two months ago for $115.00

And the windshield wipers. (sigh)

I feel your pain. :)

I've seen fantastic videos of wingsuit flyers, and watching the playback is enough for me. Those "daredevils" really do take their lives in their hands each flight. It must be exhilarating for them.

>And the windshield wipers. (sigh)

Changed the wipers on my car a short while back and i've yet to establish why that alone cost so much.

Check out the stock pricing on rubber, even synthetics, and you'll know why. That's another danger greater than running a website!

Ah.... warm, sunny, beautiful San Diego. Rained 9 days last year. 3 or 4 so far this year. That is what those windsheild wiper things are for right?

Usually smog, fog, and rain.... something folks in California know only one of. :)
