Amazon Third Party Resellers Getting Hacked

OK I read the article and here is my take

Many Amazon reseller accounts have been changed and a large amount of money has been stolen but why? There is a 2 step notification login in process and it seems the ones that have lost their money failed to use it.

If I was Amazon it would be required if you chose not then what you lose is your fault.

different password for each website would be a good start

Their emails had been hacked some time or another from a different company not Amazon so the hacker had the password reset and gained entry then did their thing.

Probably had nothing to do with passwords. Sound more like it wasn't a front end breach, but possibly a lateral compromise... through another port on the server, then over to the accounts.
