Enjoying the film. Essentially, it's about how a shrewd operator rises to power, promising strong leadership in contrast to the dithering that came before.
On the back of dissatisfaction with the current gridlocked government, he promises to bring an end to corruption in the senate.
Despite reservations in some quarters that the man himself might have a dark side, and suggestions that dark forces may have been in play, the film ends with him standing reviewing his new army amongst cheering crowds.
Eventually, it doesn't end well.
But, good film.
