If you live in a certain part of New Zealand you can get your Pizza deliveries by drone. At the moment, you have to live within 1.5kms from the restaurant. It probably cost a great deal less than sending a boy on a moped, but, what will the youngsters do when they don't have that job to go to!
All kidding aside, reliance on a career that requires a human body to do the work is not a long-term career path. Robots have been displacing manufacturing workers for decades. Online ordering and touch screens are starting to replace a lot of restaurant workers. I don't see that an assembly line for fast food preparation couldn't be handled by robots in a few years either. Software that can program itself may even make a lot of coders obsolete in a few years.

I'll have you know that I've been obsolete for a long time now.
Now that California has voted to legalize recreational marijuana starting January, 2017, there has been a lot of discussion about deliveries by drone. If so, there may soon be drone hijacking techniques developed (think Moonraker.)
