I ran across this article on NPR. [npr.org ]

Seems that North Korea has all of 28 websites. Many of them are down now, possibly because of the sudden increase in traffic. Seems to be a mix of the usual stuff, a news site, an educational site, a recipe site...

But the Internet may not be the only network available to those who do have access to connected computers north of the DMZ. According to the blog North Korea Tech, the country has an intranet called Kwangmyong, reportedly connected by fiber optic cables, available only within the country's borders.

I guess there's a chance, however slim, this network may broaden one day to include more of the open web.

Does anyone there have Net access? I thought that was restricted, too.

Wow- 28 sites? And all this time, I thought they only had 1 computer (and old IBM XT) connected t the Internet.

Ah, these are just registered .KP sites, not necessarily hosted up there.
