It's been a loooooong winter.

Then again, I say that every spring.

Today, I finally managed to get out for my first round of golf this year. Weather was perfect and I shot fairly well, all things considered (the course was a little shabby). As they say, a bad day on the course is better than a good day at the office

Anyone else getting out this weekend?

Maybe on Sunday.

I have been able to get out about 8 times this year so far so the rust is all off and the bad scores are only attributable to my poor play now.

I did have a great round last weekend though. It was only my second time playing that particular course and it is fairly long and probably the toughest course in the area (one hole is a par 6 over 750 yards) but I shot my one of my best scores ever.

Just got in from the driving range this minute.

I sucked.

Just at the end of last season I bought a new set of fancy sticks and I can't hit them worth a damn. First thing in the morning I'm gonna hire a pro to get my swing fixed. I am sorry to say that I am hooked on the game of golf in an unhealthy way. Did I mention that I suck?

OVER 750 yards? Geeze, I have one hole at my home course that is 687 and that is a MONSTER! I can't even imagine a 750+ yard hole.

It has a couple minor doglegs in it so you can cut the corners off and take off some of the yardage, especally if you don't mind hitting out of some scrubgrass. I hit Driver-5 wood-9 iron and was just over the green. Chipped on and had a stupid 3 putt.

I played my first round on thursday and it went quite well despite a rusty swing and spring greens.

>> What's your lowest score

84, but I usually play in the high 80s and low 90s

>> Maybe on Sunday.

Definitely on Sunday!

I shot a 60 once. It would have been lower but for a bogey on this monster 14th [geocities.com] :)

Ouch! The dreaded Mail Box #14. I've seen balls get to the very top and roll right back down. That hole is where the tournament is won or lost.

Here in Chicago we've had the worst Spring golf weather in years. It's been cold and rainy. I've only played six times so far. And I usually play at least three times a week. Pretty depressing!

Just got back from my third and worst round of the year. Bogeyed all but 3 holes.

Why the hell do I play?

Because I parred one, birdied the other two :) and the 19th is fantastic.

Good to see a few golfers on the board.

>> lowest score

30 on a 9 hole last summer :).
