So, I am going to do something that I never thought I'd do. I will be starting a cooking show on YouTube. Cooking is my passion, so I thought it would be fun to do. I just do not know too much about video and how to go about it. Anyone have some recommendations? I guess I need a small tripod, a go pro cam, and something to hold it on my head. No? Advice would be great. Thanks!

Webcams are great for streaming, but don't you need a video file created to upload to youtube? Why not use your choice of video camera, edit out the parts no one needs to see and produce videos everyone wants to see. That gives you a lot more control than a webcam.

(just my 2cents)

I thought the Go Pro would record the video and then I would upload it to YouTube. No? If there is another brand to use for a beginner, I am open to that as well. I know very little about editing video. I just thought it would be nice to make a site/video about something that I enjoy. Doesn't have to be like iJustine, just something that is enjoyable to watch.

I think the "webcam" in your subject line gives the wrong impression about what you're looking for. But 8,000 bonus points for not thinking “Ahh, I'll just film it on my iPhone and upload that, it's good enough”.

I have a GoPro Hero3 Silver and a competitor called an SJCAM SJ4000. The SJ4000 is pretty similar (same size/functioning/concept) to the GoPro at a fraction of the cost. Amazon and YouTube are your friends.

I use them fboth or dash cams, not sure how either would work for your purpose.
