I haven't been active on the threads for some time. I started a thread [webmasterworld.com...] and it went down hill from there. I just finally had enough of her #*$! and one thing led to another so I got myself fired.1st time in my life I was fired. Anyway I decided to get away from the computer and do some things I have been wanting to do.
Built a screened in front porch 10' by 50', painted my home 65 gallons, painted my wife's mothers home, went to visit my mom Charleston SC painted her home, and took of to calif. were I did to much to list.

While in Calif. I had a allergic reaction that you have to go to the hospital to get some shots to stop it from killing ya, this was my 5th. Well some rare times the allergic reaction turns on the heart and damages it beyond help. This is what happened to me. I just got out of surgery they installed a [nhlbi.nih.gov...] in my chest, My Ejection fraction is less then 20% [mayoclinic.org...] so my energy level is gone. I still do many things but it is only killing me quicker due to overworking the heart.

I am OK with my life my focus now is working on leaving my kids and wife as much as I can to help them in there lives when I kick out. I had to get away from the stress of dealing with clients and I am down to one an old friend.

I just wanted to let all those I have met at Pubcons, other events, and the forum thanks be cool and live life as there might be no tomorrow.

Joe

Well, thanks for the update, and it's good to hear that you're ok, and, perhaps, in a much more relaxed state of mind.

It's good to recognise that there are many more important things to life.

Wow! What a chain of events. I would bet that being fired, while stressful at the time was the optimal outcome for that kind of work environment. It is very stressful to work for people who don't understand how the parts need to work together to work well. Wishing you a good recovery and less stress for living the rest of your life as a free man. No one knows what tomorrow holds so your experience is a good reminder. Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks guys a strange side effect of 1/3 the normal blood flow is the inability to stay focused on a task for an extended period of time esp. computer work. I can do garden and other projects but computer work whole different world, I just never been like this and it is weird.

Got a funny story well I think it is but I almost went out. I was prescribed cardo therapy at the hospital were heart patients go after a by-pass etc. This all happened in November 2015 so by the time I got an appointment with a heart doc it was the beginning of Dec. started the cardo along with all my new med friends to see if the combination would get my ejection rate up. I have kept myself in good shape so I went on Mon wed fri. They are easy so after the 1st week the nurse asked me to stay between 2 and 3 on the bike. Believe me for a well person a piece of cake.

You tell me to do sumtin I will do it or die trying (pun) so after about 2 minutes with 3 to go I am berating hard and sweating like a water fall, the nurse comes over and takes my heart rate and just freaks out I mean screaming slow down go code red and other stuff. They I guess are waiting for my heart to pop cuz it was beating 180 beats per minute. Well I end up ok and she says why didn't you tell me your heart was beating so fast, I look at her and say mam this is all new to me I was just following your instructions you know my condition why did you have me doing it.

Since I stared on these meds I can't fell my heart beat weird but it is what it is. Needless to say after that she changed my workout. I went back 3 months latter (you have to be on the meds for 3 months) to see if there was some improvement I think it went down so insert defib and wait till it goes off.

I just had it put in 4/24 the frigging doc who put it in told the nurse to give me 8 sumtin of propofol and started cutting on me, I thought I was getting shots to deaden the area till I felt blood, running down my side. I guess the doc saw my body moving from the from the pain and asked "are you feeling this I said hell ya what are you doing", he said give him 8 more, and stared cutting again, I said #*$! doc that hurts, he said what the hell you still awake, I said no #*$!, he said give him 8 more. Gone. Next day during his visit he said he has never had to give a patient that much I said might be a good idea to ask the patient before whacking on them if they are still awake.

Anyway as ole Paul Harvey said "And that folks is the rest of the story".

Being in remission for the last six years, I look at each new day as a gift ... and try to enjoy it (and what I can still do) as much as possible. Different malady, of course, but that philosophy is identical!

Keep your thoughts positive and it will do much for you in the coming days.

Tangor glad to hear that word remission to a cancer survivor it is a very pretty word I pray it remains that way till your last breath.

I decided I wanted to shut my server down and asked my ole friend to find someone to take over the website I have built and managed for 10 years. He got a guy I know whom I thought had some knowledge on how to take over a website. I was so bad wrong.

1st thing he wanted to do was move to a new platform no problem but with a website with only 5 products didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but I was OK. I told him anything you need let me know anything.

I get an email and he wants to change the nameservers to the new build I hadn't even see the new build. I look at it you got to be kidding me. Here is the text on the front page.
Welcome to our new and improved website were you will find ordering and shipping much easier. It gets worse from there. I send him back an email the website isn't completed get it done before you change the namservers. He talks the owner to give him the godaddy account and changes them.

Been about 2 weeks since the new launch. Yesterday the owner comes over and ask me to help him, traffic has dived orders are gone. Being a friend I said I will call the guy and see what I can do.

I call him today and ask him do you know what keywords your trying to attract for a search? He says no can you send them to me. At this point I lose it and tell him he has done a very good job at killing the website and he will have to come here to my house and we will do it together, you basically don't know #*$! and if you want some help you come to me, and hung up on him.

I had to discontinue Google adwords due to the low scores because of the content on the website didn't match the ad.

What a loss of good traffic to a DA not to mention the 30k a month in orders they were getting.

engine he has been around doing some sites for other people but I never really looked at any of them until after this deal. I guess I should have but I didn't hire him and the owner should have had me clear his work before changing the namservers. The damage has been done I can't worry with it just pisses me off.

well update the owner came over today and asked me to take over the website again, I really don't want to but when I asked him how sales were going I had too. One sale last month, he is done if I can't bring it back. I guess it is back to working part time. :)

Thanks for the update on that. It's always going to be a challenge to get back to where you were, and you should let your friend know that it's not an easy path.

Good luck with it, and please keep us updated.

well got it all moved, since I closed my server down it has been a real experience working with a hosting company to do some of the server work.

Traffic is picking up, they are getting about an order a day right now, and page views are tripled. 3 months he had it they got a total of 10 orders. I fixed all the errors the other DA had created in GWT and have the website and mobile now at a decent speed.

Quite a bit to still do but taking it slow because I really want to do other things than sit in front of a computer all day.
