More of my youth disappearing with time and loss.

He was a poet for the common man, sincere, friendly, and just plain fun. Some do not know Merle credited Johnny Cash's performance at Folsom Prison in 1958 as his inspiration to go into music (Haggard was in the audience serving time). Upon his release in 1960 that change of heart led to a good life and a lot of memories for those of us who loved his music.
