Ive overcome the ransom part but for the life of me I cant crack where they put the redirects to other people sites files, is there a site I should go to for help ?

I got hit a couple of years ago and I managed to struggle my way of just through Googling information on the specific culprit. Mine was quite common at the time so it was fairly straightforward but I can't remember the details right now. Is Google no good to you?

Oh, sorry to hear that.

The first thing i'd consider doing is a restore, if that's practical. Of course, it depends upon when it was installed, and when you last made a backup so that you lose the minimum of updates.

You could run a link checker from various places, including xenu, of course.
