. . . but both of their practices were in my garage. They did a David Bowie tribute this evening. Here's a taste of what you missed (Moonage Daydream):

A garage, or storage unit, is the best place for new bands to work out (to see if they do work out!).

Playing in parks and front lawns in the 'hood are frowned upon by local constabulary and neighbors. :)

For five years I paid a minor cost, once a week, to a local pipe fitting factory for three hours after closing to rehearse my band(s) in an area about the same size of most "clubs" where we performed on weekends. Also proved to be fairly good for reference recordings of the band(s) as well.

Those were the days.

Acoustics were so much better in the garage than the place they played last night. It used to be a medium sized room with a stage. Stage is still there but 3/4 of the room is set up for small screen cinema. It's also a record shop with the large record bins like you used to see in record stores. It's too complicated to explain what they had to do to accommodate the band and the people, but it was weird with record bins between the band and the fans.

Reminds me of a few strange places we've played in the past. One was an indoor swimming pool wedding reception with only 12 feet from pool edge to back wall at one end for the band and "dancing". Electric instruments and crazy drunk divers splashing.... take your life into your own hands kind of thing!

Sadly, neither of those will play on my system. I get an "oops!" message saying there was a problem playing the file. :(

Hmmm. Don't know if G Drive is country specific. Does the download arrow appear at the top of the page? If so, you can download these mp3 files.

You should have bought some t-shirts saying "EVENT SECURITY" on them and either placed them over the bins or create some sort of human-like blobs to put on the bins and wear the shirts.

Bands playing in record shops and even on roofs was quite common back in the day (if I remember correctly )

Yeah, it downloads and plays on my own player, but it won't play direct from the online player.

Anyhow, I enjoyed the tracks, and thought they were very good. :)

G Drive can be temperamental. Sometimes I have to do trick stuff to get uploaded files to process. This is a long existing problem that Google won't do anything about.
