While looking up a mundane historical subject I was bemused to find one item on the first page of the SERP listed as
Das ist ein Platzhaltertext für Ihren Titel - { site name }

Hee, hee.

If only they could take some of the effort they put into "improving" the titles of English pages, and instead apply it to non-English pages that really need a title ....

Maybe the place holder page has been hacked, and someone inserted some text and links to another site.

I mention this because I've seen strange things in Google's results that were due to hacking.

Oh, the sitename was legit, as was the link. My hunch was that they made the PDF, and neglected to change the program's auto-generated title (or auto-generated linking text, couldn't be sure) ... and the search enginine inexplicably failed to notice.
