Sir Terry Pratchett, dies aged 66

Sir Terry Pratchett, fantasy author and creator of the Discworld series, has died aged 66, eight years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

Great writer - accessible and and easy to read and hard hitting satire and a lot more in his work. I love the Discworld books, and Strata is pretty good too.

It's been odd the last few years. Every time a new Pratchett book comes out, you wonder if it will be his last. And now he really has written his last.

"Sir Terry" always makes me think of P. G. Wodehouse a few years before he died, saying: Now that I've been knighted and there is a waxwork of me in Mme. Tussaud's, I have no ambitions left.
