Guess I'm just getting old but back when I was going to concerts regularly it was a religious experience. There was nothing better than the feel of live music in a small venue. I remember when the Joint opened in Vegas, it was the best thing since the Sunset Strip (before grunge).

Now it seems that no one appreciates the live concert, everyone standing there with their cell phones in front of their face recording video... I just don't get it.

I do get the idea of recoding to show that they were there at the event, but, yes, it's never going to provide quality.

The events that i've been have many people either recording, or, more annoyingly for me, talking loudly through the whole show.

The times they are a changin'. Groups that don't adapt will have limited, and possibly fleeting, success. My son explained to me how groups such as Phish and Widespread Panic have remained successful by adapting. I sort of understand. I think he'll have to re-explain it a couple more times before I finally get it.
