Sad news today. Somehow he, and Spock, played a big part in my life.

Leonard Nimoy, the sonorous, gaunt-faced actor who won a worshipful global following as Mr. Spock, the resolutely logical human-alien first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the television and movie juggernaut “Star Trek,” died on Friday morning at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was 83.Leonard Nimoy, Spock of ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 83 [nytimes.com]
“In Spock, I finally found the best of both worlds: to be widely accepted in public approval and yet be able to continue to play the insulated alien through the Vulcan character.”

RIP Live long and prosper!

Quick, put him in a Mark IV torpedo pod and... No,already did that once. :(

Definitely sad.

However, I believe there's probably an alternate time line somewhere (somewhen?) that has him continuing to live long and prospering.

I loved the original Star Trek. I was 15 when it debuted on TV. Can't count the number of times I've seen each episode. Also can't count the number of times I applied the Vulcan nerve pinch to my younger brothers.

A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP

A fitting final tweet...

RIP

Back in 1968 I played backup (bass) for Nimoy's Houston tour at the Music Hall (2 shows Friday, 3 shows Saturday, 1 show Sunday) back when he had an album out and trying to break into "Las Vegas". A genuinely warm and engaging man.
