Scanadu: The medical Tricorder from Star Trek is here [cnn.com]
It would be cool if it made the same noise while it's scanning, although I wonder if Paramount has it copyrighted.

Through its sensor, and in a matter of seconds, the Scanadu measures heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, oxygen level and provides a complete ECG reading.

Last I remember, that was a job of about 5 people at the emergency room, 90 minutes of waiting for results, +$3500 in bills(obfuscated style - last part of the bill was sent 6 month after the event).

So it's got a USB socket? Is it going to increase the number of hypochondriacs constantly self-diagnosing themselves with horrible ailments? I mean, it's very useful for people who have to monitor their condition, however, placing this scanner in mass production... nah, not a good idea.
