Have you ever wondered why some ads may get through? Well, this may suggest why, and it kind of defeats the object of the tool.

Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Taboola have quietly paid the German start-up behind Adblock Plus, the world’s most popular software for blocking online advertising, to stop blocking ads on their sites.

The deals, which are confidential but whose existence has been confirmed by the Financial Times, demonstrate that some of the biggest participants in the $120bn online advertising market see the rise of ad-blocking as a material threat to their revenues.Report: AdBlock Paid By Amazon, Google and Microsoft To Stop Blocking Ads [ft.com]

So if Wlad is Palant, there is nothing we could go.... oh wait: [bitbucket.org...]

+NoScript
+BetterPrivacy

and then there is Hosts File

Adblock Edge is a fork of the Adblock Plus(R) version 2.1.2 extension for blocking advertisements on the web.
Adblock Edge was primarily branched off from Adblock Plus(R) 2.1.2 source code package "https://adblockplus.org/downloads/adblockplus-2.1.2-source.tgz" created by Wladimir Palant.

I removed Adblock Plus as soon as I've heard that Goog was not being filtered out a while back, I think last Year or so?..

and then there is Hosts File.

Some one please update Wikipedia page wit the Announcement. I hope Mozilla will also make it clear on Adons page for Adblock Plus.
