That scribbling sound you hear in the background is the producers of Canada's Worst Driver taking notes for next season.

I love the obligatory "Do Not Attempt" line. I don't think parallel parking-- of any kind, for any purpose-- is high on the average driver's list of "Ooh, fun, I gotta try that!"

At 1:12, did they put soap on the floor precisely where the back wheels should glide to their position? Hmmm, than it's a trick rather than driver's skills.

It only says one thing!

Stick + Manual Break Rules!

We in US don't know.. what to do with it.

I got an 1984 X1/9 with 22k on it(garage kept, mint, for 5oo beans in US) in 94, best times ever! 2 Clutches, 2 transmissions later, oh well.

Three tricks involved.

Wet pavement
Light car
Deliberate rear skid...

Which required the other two factors.

That and plenty of practice before the event! (probably with orange cones). All in all, a cute trick regarding skill and traction to traction loss back to traction (stop).

Seeing as he came in at a 90 degree angle does it really qualify as parallel parking? Would never work on a street.

I failed my first driving test because of that pesky parallel parking requirement.

He said, dating himself ;) Most places have dropped the requirement because it would require the DMV to either supply their own expendable cars for the test (i.e. at least two per testing office, fore and aft), or carry insurance with a zero deductible for the unhappy neighbors whose cars would otherwise fall victim.

Getting out is the easy part, you just pick the car up and move it. :P

They were all part of an experiment risking their lives due to environmental hazards. Did you see the man in the yellow jacket at 0:31 wearing ear protection and respirators?

Stick + Manual Break Rules!

Trust me, when I used to drive one of those I had some wild fun on wet or icy pavement.

One year around Christmas the wife, kids and mom were all in the car and it was snowing like crazy. I saw a massive empty parking lot and headed in fast, ignoring their sudden questions, spun the wheel and slammed the breaks. The car started spinning making big donuts across the parking lot with them all screaming.

When I brought it to a stop I said: "Well, we went out for a nice dinner, and out for a spin, time to go home" LOL

They were awfully quiet for a few minutes.
