For international webmasters, this map offers insight to mufti-language websites.

You can probably guess what the most commonly spoken language is in most countries around the world — the French speak French, the Japanese speak Japanese, the Spanish speak Spanish and so on.

But what about the second most-spoken languages?

English is definitely not the second most widely spoken language in France..it is Arabic ( at least 5 million Arabic speakers of Maghrebin origin, first or second or third generation in France, possibly as many as 7 million ) many French will claim to speak and understand English ( the way English is taught in France and the level of "experience" of many of teachers of English is not helpful to anyone becoming fluent in English here ) on their CVs..very few actually do..in nearly 25 years here I have met very many thousands more Arabic speakers than English speakers..

If the "language map" is so inaccurate about France, one can only wonder about what it claims about the second most spoken languages in other countries..

Many of the Arabic speakers I have met ( who also speak French ) also speak English, when one can speak / read / write two languages, it is much easier to pick up a third , a fourth , fifth etc..
