There's something in the back of my mind that tells me to be concerned. OTOH, humans are fallible and it's often that fallibility that results in an accident.

The UK government has announced that driverless cars will be allowed on public roads from January next year.

It also invited cities to compete to host one of three trials of the tech, which would start at the same time.

In addition, ministers ordered a review of the UK's road regulations to provide appropriate guidelines.UK To Permit Driverless Cars On Public Roads From 2015 [bbc.co.uk]

From a practical viewpoint I'm all for driverless cars. I know that is the way of the future. From a fun viewpoint, I don't want to give up driving my Shelby. From a business viewpoint, well, it won't impact me because I'll be retired before it impacts my business. Suffice it to say, a large group of lawyers will have to find other areas of law to practice (both criminal and civil), police departments can shrink, and personnel in overworked courts can be reduced.
