Oh dear, how bad can situations get with Google Glass. That's quite scary.

It's awful the incident took place at all, but, as the journalist notes, it wasn't a smart idea to wear it in that vicinity.

Would it have happened if he was using his Android phone?

Google ought to send him a free Google Glass replacement with a reminder about its use.

On Friday night, I was assaulted while walking down the sidewalk in the Mission District of San Francisco.

A colleague and I had just finished covering a march in protest of a Google employee who had recently evicted several tenants after buying and moving into a home in the area.

After more than an hour spent working on the story in a coffee shop, I arranged my laptop, camera, and notes in my backpack. Mindlessly, I put on Google Glass instead of squeezing it in with the rest of my things.

(In retrospect, I can see how that might not have been the best idea.)

Things were better back when I lived in the Mission.

Back then, EVERYBODY got assaulted simply because they were walking in the Mission.

True...

Hear in San Francisco, there is something of a love / hate relationship with google... a lot of it being hate. And it involves a lot of the other tech companies.

Protestors have blocked / accosted google's shuttle buses from The City to their campuses, partly because they park in the public (MUNI) bus spaces for free, and partly because people believe employees / executives of google and other tech companies are jacking up the rents here.

I am not siding with them. I am just saying that is their reasoning / excuse for accosting things related to google.
