but .. what will you be doing...

Seasonal Greetings to all !

(My wife starts early! around January actually !)

But, as there is nothing much to do, business contacts all have 'out of office' messages, no-one wants to know until well into the New Year so what do you do.

We pick up a new project, or dust off an old one from last year, and work on that for a few weeks.

Do you do the same or is it all manic present buying or writing those time-consuming Christmas cards, or waiting for the postman to deliver those corporate gifts which are never very exciting.

December is a good time for us to put in place things to be launched at the beginning of the year.

Right now we are building a set of tools we will be using once the "business contacts" get back to their offices and we are finishing up internal testing of a couple of new product/services we will be rolling out in January.

This is a good time of year for us to do these things since normal business is slow, we don't have to deal with the day to day stuff, so it's kind of nice.

I am wrapping up a somewhat grueling e-book, the second (1872) edition of Military Schools and Courses of Instruction in ... {long list of countries, winding up with the US, which comes up very much behind the rest of the world}. Since November of 2006 it has chewed up and spat out at least seven different people, some of them twice, so by month's end I should be dancing with joy. As will all the other people who have been glancing at it guiltily before running like ###.

And then then son and I get to go visit my mother. The best part of being at my mother's house is that, for the duration of the visit, my son is not driving.
