Ray Manzarek, the inventive keyboardist behind the sound and songs of The Doors, died on Monday at a cline in Germany after a lengthy battle with bile duct cancer, the band announced today. He was 74.

Some groups have to grow on you. Not the Doors. As soon as I heard them I was hooked. Only two members left. RIP Ray.
