So, out of laziness I searched for Maps in Bing. Top result (in UK, at least) is Google Maps. Bing maps come in at #8.
Thought that was interesting.

I assume you are referring to doing the search in the Web tab rather than just going directly to the Maps tab in which case you would be directly on Bing Maps.

For me there are different ways of looking at it. First of all I'm happy if the result I'm hoping to find appears on the first page -- it doesn't have to be #1. And it also points to Bing being impartial to their own properties which goes a long way in returning unbiased results consistently for all search terms other than just maps in this case.

Yup - that's what I thought too. It's a nice change from all the talk about the Google stuff in Google results.
