I heard that. I guess kids these days just don't like reading off dead trees, if they read that kind of stuff anyway.
Computer power and gaming brought an end to much of that, imho.

I don't know who's doing the artwork now but it is so poor that there is no wonder nobody buys the Dandy any more. Desperate Dan looks awful - as though drawn by a fairly talentless child.

I think this sort of crude UK comic started to die years ago when the US imports from DC and Marvel began to arrive. It was certainly a revelation to me as a child in the 60's; the quality of the art, the well written stories and the superior quality of the printing turned me away from the Beano, the Beezer and the Dandy - never to return.
