Go to the Google main page, type in "french military victories" as a search term - then hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button :P

Yeah, that made the blog rounds a few weeks ago (as that serp shows). But I just noticed this:

French military victories: [google.com] 225 hits

American military victories: [google.com] 54 hits

Which besides making me grin a little points out how easy it is to get the #1 listing for a phrase like this.

Hehe.. not to mention this one:

Searched the web for "cheese eating surrender monkey". Results 1 - 10 of about 456.

Gee, what a scathing and insightful critique of France's role in current international events. "Cheese eating surrender monkey," eh? Thank goodness I'm not the target of such clever pundits' poison pens... *whew*

Thank god it's a spoof, I got a pop-up ad with it and was terrified Google had surrendered to the pop-up weasels!

lol..classic "google bomb" trick although all i can say about "intention" is "sad sad sad"..not to mention "cheese eating surrender monkey" which is even sader. but if you think this was funny way to "critisize" France then check this(no google trick):

[cnn.com...]

i read it in the morning and i am still laughing...whats next ..freedom kissing?

check out how they wanted to be "politically correct" and included other side too: The name change was criticized by one young man in a House cafeteria. "That's completely ludicrous to me," he said.

i would tend to agree with him..LOOOOL.. actually ... sad sad sad...

from marketing point -you have to give a guy a credit! not with search from google but from various inet news sites and forums he will get tons of hits! smart!

---------
Lerner hasn't heard from Google, and chances are he won't.
A spokesman for Google, based in Mountain View, Calif., had no comment. But the search engine generally turns its back on parodies, recognizing that eventually the pages will be less visible as they fall down further in the search engine's results list.
-----------

is that so? I rememeber "dumb motherf.." parody was quickly removed. And bill gates or MS version (most evil or soemthing like that) too.hmm..
