I have downloaded IE6 from the web, and I keep getting the error message: "Setup cannot install IE 6 and components. Please close all other applications and try again". I've done that but I keep getting the same message. Please help me anybody!

Whew, that's a tough one. Do you have some version of ie installed already? Have you updated the whole system via ms update? I'd try that first. Then start to track down whatever appears to be running that is blocking ie. Press control-alt-delete and look through the program list to see what is still running - could be something like a antivirus program or monitor type program.
