Something I haven't seen before is the closing line:
"If you block this email you will be restricting emails from 1000's of people".
I got 2 seperate emails (both the same) one from an AOL address and one from a Yahoo address.
(It was an "earn £5000 per week from home" email!)
I just it was an interesting technique to use - how many less tech savvy people are likely to stop blocking things because of these emails?

Is there an official body or authority setup to stop this nonsense?
A few years ago it was bearable - it was pretty much the same as junk mail (snail mail) - ie, legitimate.
But now it's getting pretty out of hand.
Take away the issue of children recieving porn to their inbox and you are still left with a large amount of the web population faced with scam after scam.
If I were to send a letter to someone soliciting money, that made it appear I worked for a different company, then I would most likely be spending a long time in jail.
Surely with the right staff and equipment, the source of these emails couldn't be too hard to trace?
I'm thinking - start tracing them - compile a DB of serial offenders - arrest them. An over simplification, but fairly reasonable I think. :)
