Well, I have actually done some work today but boy is it TOUGH!

Not only does paid work take a tumble around update time but check out the 'non-google' forums... The CSS Crash Course 4 has gone right out the window this week ;)

I've found that a relaxed attitude is best, it's no good trying for me, I'm just to tense.

Anyone managing the grunt work this week?

<added>PC gets left ON tonight, If I get up for a visit to the bathroom I'll be dropping in here first!</added>

I'm embarrassed to say that I have done very little in the way of real tangible work today. Tomorrow, I promise.

I have actually had a productive day. Mostly answering emails, checking stats, working with affiliate managers, etc. Not much in the way of building or updating sites, just background work which I think is just as important (if not more so) than the actual building of the site.

I've got a bit done today (not as much as i wanted)

the update (or lack of) always messes up my day, the premature update threads don't help none either :o)

not long to go now, i can feel it in my bones, haven't we got any bonafide clairvoyants as members? :o)

I was busy getting customer content posted right up to the wire.

I finished yesterday lunchtime and then refused to do anymore serious work until the update. Can't focus on other things with all the drama going on.

Actually, I've made the update a part of my work. I alot about two days each month to study the update and I made a spreadsheet about a year ago that tracks where we sit for certain keywords, any changes we made, traffic increases..etc..

Makes it feel like I'm not just sitting around watching the update..

Even though I'm just sitting around watching the update..

Hee Hee! i've watched you all for over 2 years now going mad at the end of the month, you see I just write MODBUS programs for control systems, I have no sites to worry about. UNTIL NOW!
I decided to set up an affiliate site and its beginning to distract me from my real job. I have no reason to be on the internet at all really during the day so its getting difficult to explain how WebmasterWorld is beneficial to my work. I'm dreading next month cos thats when my site will hopefully be active and i will join you all in what appears to be mass panic followed by a number of quiet murmurings.

Its not so much the update that causes problems for me, but the crawl following it. I've been trying to get new content up for my own sites, meanwhile I had 3 existing web design clients want new stuff added to their sites, plus one new design client. I don't really have that many clients either, but of course they all end up wanting something right at the same time when I want/need to work on my own sites.

Ive actually done more work today than I usually do... :)

I can't stand update time - I haven't even looked at the update threads, or subsequent "Have I been penalised?" threads.

Im semi-interested as to what difference the new index will make to my sites, but I don't really check keywords or anything.....Im an unconventional SEO! :)

If it works, then it works! If it doesn't then my competitors will most likely copy me anyway! :P
