PubConference in the UK?

Is there/Has there?

After doing a site search here I got most excited when I found a forum on a potential PubConf right here in the UK. I then realised that it was closed in 2001! Oops.

I can't get over to the states for this PubConf. Is there one planned for the UK? If not, why not! No, seriously. Why not? Would anyone like to organise one? I wouldn't mind helping!

Let me know

Right I'm clearly being a dumb idiot here, but all those links are for 2001/02. Ive done a search on all of those for Pub Conference 2003 but nothing shows up...

I'm clearly being a fool this morning

2003UK planning doesn't kick into full force until after the US one is done. There are some pieces that fall into place, such as sponsors who immediately raise their hands and say "Wherever/whenever it is, we're in!" But it's still something that's done largely from one event to the next.

He'll own all of Nottingham by the time we get there this time, Mackin. I expect the Moat House to be renamed to something more appealing to affiliate scum. The bar will be called the "Long Dark Sedan Bar" --lots of black fabric.

>planning

I should add that PubCon has now become quite an event and the planning is (A)expensive and (B) a lot of work.

Heh! Now YOU were totally hooked, SG.

>affiliate scum

YES and it will be a small group of TRUE affiliate marketers. No PONZI people ;)

Dublin? Elsewhere in Ireland?

I'd be willing to help out where I can. Perhaps Glengara, MakeMeTop, JimmyKav, jmccormac and others might also.

Dublin or Edinburgh would be interesting, keep partners happy.

Though i do like London. As Darren said where-ever and when-ever. I'm so there.

Anyway. The US Boston conference, starting to feel G-eeed up for it now. Personally for all you'se chaps calling for a conference in the UK/Ireland, if you can get to Boston, don't miss it, it will be brillant.

>>I'm clearly being a fool this morning

yay! now i don't feel so .... alone .... out of place ... :)

there was pubcon in london back in october, there will hopefully be another one probably in london later this year. there will almost certainly be other (unofficial) meets arranged for elsewhere in the world at other times, although i dont think you can beat the real thing - if you have a few days to spare, get to boston. don't worry about the cost - the knowledge you pick up will more than pay you back several times over. walk, drive, swim, just do whatever you have to to get there.

i'm outta luck for boston - too much work, not enough staff :(
and teh work keeps on coming in :(

That's what I hear sets these conferences apart from other ones in regards to who in the affiliate world attends. Nothing like a few ponzi schemers to crash a party and I'm glad there are NO ponzi people at Pubcon.

Hope something doesn't come up where I can make the next one!

Why not have an informal monthly, weekly meet in a bar/pub/club/function room some where central in each country.

JudgeJeffries, i do see directly that you haven't met these animals or creatures whatever you want to call them, they are not "normal" people, and if they met up once a month, the pubs in england would not have any beer left.
