Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ), the world’s largest computer maker, said it is in talks to buy Autonomy Corp. to expand in software and that it’s considering spinning off its personal-computer business.
Hewlett-Packard will discontinue products that run its WebOS operating system, including phones and TouchPad tablets, the company also said in a statement today. The company is considering paying a premium of more than 60 percent in an all- cash offer of about $10 billion for Autonomy, people familiar with the matter said earlier. Hewlett-Packard shares dropped after the company issued forecasts that missed estimates.

There's already Android, iOS, Symbian, BlackerryOS, WindowsMobile, and many more. Did we really need another?
