Would you agree to live in the moon?

After a recent discovery of water in the surface of the moon, I am curious if life is now possible.

Would you accept if you are asked to live in the moon?

After watching the film 'Moon', probably not.

Too many known health problems, like loss of bone and muscle mass, radiation etc.

I'd go for a day or two though, just to say I've been there.

You mean ON the Moon. I for one have enough trouble choosing a place to live on Earth..

How fast will the ADSL access be?

The bars up there are no good - no atmosphere. :~)

The gas stove.

Well, perhaps you'll be closer to the satellites, so satellite connections now become fast?

The Moon is about 10 times further away from the Earth than the communications satellites are ..so you would be nearly 9 times further away from them than you are on Earth..so nope.. they'd get slower.

I was talking about the communications satellites on the moon, which due to the lack of atmosphere would be even closer than they are on earth.

Or perhaps we're belabouring the obvious :).

communications satellites on the moon

Are there any on the moon ..?...are there any even in orbit around it ?

Somewhat woolly science there :)..things get closer in a vacuum ?

Or perhaps we're belabouring the obvious :).

We're in foo ..so ..:) which is why we can discuss using ADSL to communicate with the gas stove ..it has no one to talk to since Wallace and Grommit went home..

I've been in the moon since I was a wee lad but I don't know if I'd want to live on it. I guess it would depend on how good the fishing is.

You mean ON the Moon

Note that author claims that water was discovered IN the surface of the moon. The closer the better, low water company bills :)

Typical I/O error... :)

There is no reason you could not get good bandwidth from the moon, so a fast connection is quite possible, but latency will be terrible.

Well, when that time comes, communication would be very fast by then. Assume to have the best latency ever.

Who else would be there?

You can choose who you would like to be with you...

To get good latency to the moon, you would need faster than light communications.

To get good latency to the moon, you would need faster than light communications.
And once everyone started using it for downloading adult movies and pictures, it would no longer be faster than light.

no, but on the other hand satellites traveling through atmosphere @7800 m/sec tend to get crispy or vaporize.
