Are You More At Risk Flying . . .

. . . or confined to a bed in a hospital?

Yep you guessed it - avoid the hospital.

People very rarely die from flying. Crashing, however, does pose more risks...

It definitely makes you think about what goes on (or doesn't) in some hospitals... I've seen some that definitely look like germs would be happy living there.

avoid the hospital.

although if your plane is crashing,( known in the trade as a forced unscheduled emergency landing ) trying to make it rejoin Terra in the hospital car park might be a wise move..

LOL . . . I've always said this, and everyone thinks I'm putting them on! I have been sick TWICE in the last 10 years or so, and I attribute that to two things: I avoid hospitals and doctors as much as possible and I don't rub my eyes. :-)

If the plane crashes into the hospital, that really screws up the data!

Someone on the plane would be technically be killed by both the crash and the hospital. And the patients in the hospital who died, technically died from the crash, but they weren't flying.

It seems that hospital administrators would welcome planes crashing into their hospitals, because then they could shift the blame to the place crash and away from the hospital- planes crashing into hospitals would (statistically) make hospitals safer!

@LIA ..you are Terry Pratchett's lost brother..and I claim my 5 pounds ;-)

@rocknbil ..I actually caught swine flu here in France in 2009 after sitting in a hospital waiting room ( took my wife for an X-ray ) and being coughed over by the two small children next to me for 30 minutes ( their mother argued that I was being "grouchy" when I asked her to tell her kids not to stand on the chair and cough in my face , to tell them to cover their mouths etc ) ..

2 days later ..BAM ..swine flu ..

the doctor confirmed 3 other people caught it that day ..she had taken them there to have a check up ( just in case )..they had just come back from Mexico the day before ..she and her kids went down with it too ..

I have friend who waits outside when ever anyone in his family need to visit the doctor or hospital..he figures that the magazines in the waiting rooms and the small children harbor more germs than the plague centres.

He has a very good point.. if you must go ..take your own reading matter ..and wear a mask ..

Ive called in sick to work once in 8 years and been sick very little. Keeping your hands away from ones face really cuts down on sickness alot.
