You can do a lot with an iPhone these days -- text, take pictures, surf the net, and even make a phone call.

And soon, thanks to two Australian entrepreneurs, you will be able use it to open a bottle of beer by way of the "Opena," a hard plastic case that fits over the iPhone and is equipped with a slide-out bottle opener.

"Basically, Australians are fairly heavy drinkers, as you may or may not know,"...

Let's get the perspective from India for a change [hindustantimes.com...]

Chuckles, ummmm about 6 years too late for me. But during my adventurous days, when I was wild and crazy (I'm very settled now!), we had twist off caps, and still do. There was no need for a bottle opener. So I guess we need an informal survey now. How do you get your cap off, twist, opener, or will you be looking forward to opening it with your iPhone?

I have a collection of "church keys" dating back to 1898 from all over the world (137 in all)... I have many ways of opening bottles, cans, etc. Don't need no steeking iPhone! :)

I open my beer with the fine audiophile B&O keyring, no batteries required ;)

I tend to old-style/retro: [en.wikipedia.org...]
Muscle power and a reasonable amount of hand/eye coordination required. With preference for the 1935 versions (which will also open a can of beans, too!)

but the pointed churchkey hurts in your pocket and usually isn't around when you need it, unlike the key ring I use for car keys

Heck, I'd be more likely to have an opener on the back of a phone handy than a churchkey!

All you need to open a bottle of beer is another bottle of beer. All good things come in twos.

Except if you live in the US where they have twist off caps. No culture...

Now That's what I'm talking about! That would even work on a MOON!... all though it would never make it to the MOON :), at least not the first 2.
