Federal prosecutors in Seattle have filed wire fraud charges against a Microsoft employee accused of stealing more than $515,000 from the company.
Arrested Tuesday morning, Robert D. Curry stands accused of stealing the money during three wire transfers in 2010 from a Microsoft Corp. account to his own back account. Federal prosecutors contend Curry claimed the money was payment for services that were not provided to the Redmond software giant.
Prosecutors claim Curry created a shell company, falsified invoices and then used the proceeds of the fraud to pay for high-end audio equipment, a ski vacation and credit card bills.
