How so, eh..., south Georgia-ish. An oval and and strip. Nothing sophisticated, easy to understand.
[goo.gl...]

And, yes, I know what I'm talking about. I have family in that part of the world. (Cecil, Ga....In the summer of 1970 I was in Panama City, Fla. A young man just out of high school heading to college, I met two young ladies on the beach who were from Cecil, Ga. But, that's off topic...)

Managed a 10.985 @ 130.78.

And FWIW, I was lined up next to a Steeda Company car that put down over 600 hp. The driver was a Steeda driver. He had a GoPro on the driver's side (left) quarter panel to record his pass. I was in the left lane. He had a better reaction time than I (.025 vs .054) but I had a better 60' time (1.775 vs 1.802). He ran an 11.237 @ 128.58.

So the good new is that not only did I break into the 10s, the Steeda guy should have a good video of my taillights. :)

<edit> Just checked with Steeda Guy. Seems he's about as good at operating his camera as I am. He hit the "off" button rather than the "on" button. </edit>

Congrats, lawman.

I honestly have no idea of the BHP of my Jeep, just know it goes up where others cannot.

Kind of miss the days where I had a strip conveniently located, there's really nothing like it.

600 Hp, can't even imagine what you'd do with that in my world. Then again, I have seen videos where people seem to get some of it on the ground.

I'm not certain I understand how you bested the other car on the track. Cool that you did. I think that's worth a lot.

>>I'm not certain I understand how you bested the other car on the track

Add his ET (11.237) and reaction time (.025) and subtract my ET (10.985) and reaction time (.054) and you see that I crossed the finish line .223 (actually .2238 since the computer calculates the difference to 4 digits) ahead of him.

Keep in mind that I could have the same ET and trap speed and lose if my reaction time were significantly slower than the other driver's.

Make sense?

I changed to a stickier drag radial and am having a problem with axle hop. I had to modify my launch to compensate. An after market rear upper control arm worked with Mickey Thompson drag radials, but I will be replacing lower control arms Monday to take care of my new found hop. Hope to get deeper in the 10s with that mod.

I wasn't questioning the math. It was the 600hp you were up against.

I learned that tires are a huge part of the game. I autocrossed, so getting the tires to stay on the ground was not the huge issue it would be for you. Interesting. I learned something again on WW.

Ah, he's putting down 642 to the rear wheels. We're equally matched except that I might be a little more equal than he is. ;)

Roll cage ordered today.

How much speed/time do you think the extra weight will cost you? Or are you going to take something off the car to compensate?

Or do you think the extra weight won't matter much?

I ordered a mild steel roll cage. It weights 55 lbs. The chrome moly weighs 39 lbs but costs $800 more. I did replace the factory stamped steel rear lower control arms with Steeda billet aluminum LCAs today. Don't know how much that saved, but they are noticeably lighter. I also have a Steeda one-piece aluminum driveshaft that is way lighter than the factory two piece driveshaft. Add weight here, take it off there.

I tried to talk my wife into getting the LT1 Camaro when it comes out. She declined. I sure would've liked to take that one to the track.
