Anyone remember Bob Dylan's Dream [azlyrics.com]? Words fit this thread.

Can't find an original version by Bob himself, but there are plenty of covers on youtube. If you like Judy Collins and her Irish lilt, her version pops up early. Bob's version is more mournful.

OT I know but Judy Collins has an Irish lilt? She was born and raised in Seattle?

Haha, sorry purists. I was trying to distinguish styles rather than categorize Miss Judy's (lack of) brogue. Omit the word "Irish" if it bothers you. If you've heard Dylan's origninal, I think you'll see my point.

BTW, you might want to look up the definition of lilt.

Now back on topic.

Yes, I remember being on business in Norwood, Massachusetts a few years ago with a fellow Scot and a waitress in a restaurant asked us what part of Germany we were from. ;)

After watching an episode of Rab C. Nesbitt my (Italian) wife turned to me and asked if "...all the Welsh were like that"!

Anyone wanting to answer this question should review the evidence:

Whatever your opinion, respect to the lady - still performing in her 70s.

"BTW, you might want to look up the definition of lilt."

Tried that, first result was a soft drink.
Other results provided the answer to your statement/question.
Suppose I need to drag my bad self to the Google forums where I can complain about search results. Or maybe not.

Actually I can't take her seriously - it's the hair that does it.

Mistakes over both accents and music genres are quite common. I always assumed that the Irish guy on our team was an Ulsterman and discovered yesterday that he was from Cork.

Who is Judy Collins? Any relation to Joan?

You can't judge an apple by looking at a tree
You can't judge honey by looking at the bee
You can't judge a daughter by looking at the mother
You can't judge a book by looking at the cover

Since time immemorial, however, singers have been judged by their haircuts.

I'm not a fan of Judy Collins but I hope I can still hit the notes when I get to her age.

Anyone wanting to answer this question should review the evidence:

Gimme a break. Barack Obama would sound Irish singing Danny Boy. The answer is no, she does not sound Irish, Judy Collins just sounds great.

I always thought O'Bama was an Irish name.

Danny Boy, of course, was written by an Englishman.

Yes, perhaps they should be looking for O'Sama in the mountains of Mourne?

Barack Obama would sound Irish singing Danny Boy

Not surprising as (like many US presidents when votes are at stake) he claims Irish blood.
