Am I really that old now?!

I am not sure how many of you are serious frequent international travellers, nor whether that even matters. But, I just posted a message to a thread when I noticed I joined in 2002.

Almost 12 years. I know quite a few of the well known names that have become mods which is great, and bill still makes me want to move to Japan despite its current problems just to experience true high speed internet.

Yet, I must admit I have few friends here.

There is no sadness in this submission just an acknowledgement of the truth.

Yet this forum has given me so much. And for that I thank you.

Congrats for such a long tenure on WebmasterWorld and in that continued tradition of helping each other out, I'll help you out with the math too as 2011-2002=9 so almost 10 years would be closer ;)

Yes, I was seven years in here last month. Like most people I joined when the brown stuff hit the fan (after one of my websites bombed in the rankings) but I have stayed for the duration.

I have learned so much from this forum and I am indebted to all of those who have helped me over the years. I like to think that I am able to give something back now and then.

I find, the older I get the fewer new friends I acquire. Even close friends I had a long time ago I don't keep in touch with anymore.

It is just part of getting older. It is simply no longer a priority in my life to acquire new friends and have an active social life. It is a lot of effort to make and keep new freinds IMO.

So don't worry about VT.

Myself. But I also find that the older I get, the more important my old friends become.

I have friends today that I went to school with and I'm 50 years old. We talk on the phone or email and it's always a source of enjoyment for me.

I have to say that I don't have many "friends" here either- certainly no one that I have met offline. Although, that would certainly change if I could ever fit a PubCon into my schedule...
