Interesting interview with a female business professor about the problems women face in business today:

“Capture more and nurture less”, is another piece of advice, referring to a female tendency to give in, in the interests of maintaining harmony, rather than taking as much as they can and dealing with the consequences later.

I'm not sure what female executives she's talking about because most I've ever known were just as hard driven as their male counterparts, sometimes even more so and the only compromise was when the other party finally caved in!

The topic is just as applicable to males or females because it's a mentality type, not a gender type, some people are stubborn and stand their ground, others compromise, and if we didn't have both types there wouldn't be leaders and followers.

However, you can be a very successful leader by compromising all the time because ultimately compromise is a form of manipulation, something many women I know excel at ;)

It depends on where you live, in some cultures the glass ceiling is even more pronounced. I have been selling online and very few of my actual paying customers are female.

They're even driven harder Bill. Whether a gender bias exists or not, many women suspect there is.

And it pushes them harder...

Well what does that mean? What's your product? Men do buy different products than women. You're aware of that, correct?

I have tons of women customers. I can't quote numbers right now. Women are the most aggravating to me though. They'll get me locked into endless email discussions on how to use the product they've just bought. Yak at me on the phone all day long.

I am selling domains and ebooks, not many women . If it was some other product, it may be different.

You think? Or are you just guessing?

Sell mascara and see how many male customers you get. Women will outnumber men 99 to 1 on that one.

Sell antifungal medication that corrects yeast infections in women and that ratio probably goes to 100 - 0.

What are your ebooks about? Bass fishing? Repairing farm equipment?

Women spend more money than men anyway. Every woman I've known does. They're notorious shoppers. And they look at everything.

Your book just isn't what they want. I hope you're not confused about this.

if there is a glass ceiling, grab a rock and break it, don't just look it.

woman can reach any level as high as any man if they wanted to and were willing to put in the work for it.

If you find you self in a situation, business, location that doesn't support you growth, get out of it ASAP. don't stay in it and whine about limitation places on you LMAO.

It is often about the ability or willingness to take risks. Men and women who have the same tolerance for risk will often react the same in a biz situation. My best client right now is a successful woman exec with deep pockets. People often confuse risk differences with gender issues.

This is not to say I understand women.

That was well said weeks.

Women are learning today that don't even need a husband or a boyfriend to buy them things. Go to school, get an education and get a good job. You don't even need a man in your life. And many women have opted for that.

And this was well said also:
This is not to say I understand women.

They boggle me sometimes. They're so much faster than I am. They think on their feet quicker than I do. I have to write something down and look at it, make revisions, make edits. I won't even open my mouth sometimes unless I know what I'm saying. Women will pop off at the drop of a hat and they're usually right.

They run circles around me and always have...

Okay, to stay on topic... yeah if there's a glass ceiling throw a rock at it. Or get out your Daisy BB gun and just keep plugging until it falls.

Unsuccessful women i know self stereotype themselves into lower paying Jobs, careers, etc expecting a higher earning husband to make up the gap.

Anything a man can do a women can do!

And traditionally that's how it's been. There was actually even more of an uneven balance in the past. Women stayed home. There weren't two wage earners. There was one and it was the man. The woman stayed home and took care of the children and the kitchen. They cleaned house. They had supper ready when dad got home.

Men can be oppressive. We like to start wars and we like to keep our women in the house.

We divorce women who we've kept in the house and who now have no skills just because we want a younger version. A better model.

Now she's got 3 kids on her hands and no way to make a living other than alimony, child support. She's looking for a job at Burger King but that won't pay for everything. And what if the guy doesn't pay? The courts are just now starting to go after dead beat dads but they didn't in the past.

There's a new breed of woman out there and it's the one I like better anyway. Smart. On the ball. Capable. They'll tell you go to hell in a minute. They're educated and they've got jobs. They're good at what they do too.

It's still a mans world and that basically means we've put women in the position they're in.
