Newspaper Publishers Worry Over Apple Pushing Subscriptions Via iTunes [bbc.co.uk]
Apple is being warned against trying to squeeze cash out of the newspaper industry by controlling subscriptions for iPads and iPhones.

The European Newspaper Publishers' Association (ENPA) says it is concerned by the company's plans to direct online sales through iTunes.

If that happens, the ENPA warns, a large cut of their profits would go to Apple.

Newspaper people whine about everything. They have been giving away news for zip for a decade now (except for WSJ and a few others) and now someone comes a long with a means to provide subscription income...

Apple wants a percentage. You want $10 a sub? Create a product that is worth $10+Apple's cut. Or come up with a way to sell subscriptions yourself. Which they might can do, BTW. But, otherwise, stop whining.
