I recently read an article (that i unfortunately can no longer find) that there is some type of "forum" where text can be edited by every user. Its not really a forum, more a page of text that "chaoticaly" evolves from input by everyone.

does anyone have an idea what I am talking about? and wher I could find something like that?

thanks in advance

Ah.. youll'd be wanting a wiki or a wikki

or maybe a tikki..

A search on a search engine will be rewarding.

the "Wiki" is a beautiful thing. It is essentially a form on a page and a text editor. Total user created dynamic web pages. Editable by anyone... no restrictions.

It, for the most part is community regulated and community policed. The level of maturity displayed on any wiki I have been exposed to, by far surpasses that on any moderated forum I have belonged to. You'll have a few bad seeds that go on content deletion rampages, but I have noticed that the lack of challenge is a real deterant to those who seek to infiltrate and cause disarray. The wiki I am most familiar with, makes regular backups and if real trouble occurs, a blocked IP and a repair from backup is all it takes to get life going again. Very interesting and dynamic tecnology.

Asone who has never used one but just lurked, I find it incredibly intriguing. See the wikipedia for example. A great attraction to me is its simplicity and the startling premise that anarchy may well work.. Its a refreshing change to the Web's present over-design and over-structure trends. Maybe what the Web was meant to be way back then.

Go and have a look. You may well be gone for a while.

I had a look at the linked one, but I was a bit confused by the concept of downloading software for a forum. :/ How about a WebmasterWorld wiki forum? ;) That would be very interesting. :)

Try [c2.com...]

Seems to be the best starting point or:
[directory.google.com...]
